ABOUT US

At itswellness, we help business professionals reconnect with nature to support their health and well-being. Join us in forests, parks, and gardens and experience the healing power of the natural world.

WITH CARE, FROM ALL OF US

Our mission is simple, yet ambitious: “Let’s aim for a stress-free society—together.”

This isn’t just a slogan. It reflects who we are—what we value, what we hope for, and how we choose to work.

The world today moves fast. Busy schedules, constant notifications, growing pressure—stress has become a part of everyday life.

We know we can’t erase it completely. But with shared wisdom and small, thoughtful actions, we believe we can make it more manageable—and help people live healthier, more balanced lives.

In Japan, for example, nearly 60% of working adults have reported high stress levels for over 30 years. Government-led programs like “Health and Productivity Management” exist, but often don’t reach freelancers, small business owners, or the self-employed. It’s a challenge we believe many countries share.

People are living—and working—longer than ever. That’s why it’s so important to start understanding and caring for our mental and physical well-being at every stage of life.

We believe in the healing power of nature. The forests near our homes. The parks beside our offices. Even a small green space we pass on the way to work.

Surrounded by trees, water, birds, and fresh air—we begin to breathe differently. We feel calmer. More ourselves.

When we invite business professionals to take a break in nature, we often hear: “That sounds amazing—but I don’t have time.”

And yet, it’s the people with the least time who need these moments the most. We hope more people will begin to listen to their bodies, notice how they really feel, and take even a short pause—just for themselves.

At itswellness, we’re working professionals too. We understand the pressure. We live it. That’s why we’re creating ways to make rest and renewal feel possible—even for the busiest among us.

So, why not take that first small step? Visit a nearby forest, walk through a garden, or simply stand under a tree. We’d love to walk this journey toward wellness—with you.

Our work is rooted in care, connection, and nature.

Wellness for Us and the Earth

Before founding this nonprofit, I experienced serious stress that affected my health. During recovery, I discovered forest bathing—and through nature, slowly regained balance in body and mind. In the quiet of the forest, I found a gentler kind of happiness—calm, steady, and grounding. Now, I carry that experience with gratitude. Through wellness, I hope to give something back—not only to people, but to the natural world we share. If we can reduce stress for both, I believe we can begin to heal. I look forward to walking this journey with others—starting with you.

Revitalization of office workers

I am passionate about improving the work style of office workers (especially middle managers) who are busy and tend to feel tired every day so that they can recover their health and energy. I was instinctively motivated to participate in the forest bathing project because I love nature which always heals my mind and body. I would like to revitalize office workers by promoting park shinrin-yoku that is avalable for anyone anywhere at anytime.

Finding Balance in Nature

I’ve been spending more time working with computers, and I feel like I’m losing touch with nature in my daily life. Spending time outdoors has become a vital way for me to reset—bringing calm to my mind and balance to my body. There’s something deeply grounding about letting nature hold you, even for a moment. I hope others can experience that same sense of peace. Just a small break in a natural setting can become a meaningful pause—and maybe even a new rhythm for your everyday life.

Free yourself from the noise of daily life!

Walking slowly in the forest is effective for refreshing the mind and body. By listening to the sounds of nature, such as the rustling of leaves, the wind, and the chirping of birds, you can relax and free yourself from the noise of daily life. As a result, your mind becomes clear, and your concentration and creativity can increase.

Awaken to the Senses:
A Forest Bathing Invitation

These days, we spend a lot of time operating our smartphones. Don’t you feel tired of such a lifestyle? Why don’t you go to a park for a digital detox and enjoy a Shinrinyoku of forest bating? The nature can sharpen our five senses and help us refresh. Although I couldn’t travel, I really enjoyed taking a moment to breathe deeply in a nearby park during the COVID-19 pandemic. And Shinrinyoku can feel the vitality through changing the nature with the seasons. If you’d like to enjoy a Shinrinyoku, please consult with itswellness!

Nature’s healing power for a digital world

In today’s fast-paced and digital world, stress and mental fatigue tend to build up without us even noticing. That’s why I believe that spending time in nature—and being in comfortable, natural spaces—is more important than ever for our well-being. I’ve joined this initiative because I want to help more people experience the benefits of forest bathing and other gifts of nature. These experiences can calm the mind, refresh the body, and bring a quiet richness to everyday life—something our society truly needs.

Sharing Japan’s Natural Beauty

Living overseas has made me realize anew the beauty of Japan’s nature — its beautiful four seasons, its subtly delicate landscapes, and the many events tied to each season. I feel that a deep respect for nature is rooted in the hearts of the Japanese people. Time spent experiencing Japan’s rich natural beauty is a true luxury. With this in mind, we devote ourselves every day to sharing the charm of Japan—through the lens of nature—with people all around the world.

A Place to Return to our Origin

When I was a flight attendant for Japan Airlines, on the morning I arrived at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Hawaii, I would sit on a bench under a tree in a park in Waikiki and refresh myself while feeling the scent of the trees and the sea breeze. I became involved in forest bathing at itswellness, and when I started visiting forests and parks in various places, I realized that the time I spent in Waikiki was “forest bathing.” We would like to contribute to the improvement of wellness by proposing a place where businesspeople can return to their origins by fusing nature, hot baths, food culture, etc.

Move, eat and travel moderately

I try to exercise moderately (especially karate and marathons), eat moderately (especially with good wine), and travel moderately (especially hot spring inns). Let’s enjoy our tours together.

PROJECTS

itswellness initiatives

At itswellness, one of our core initiatives centers on future-friendly travel—designed to benefit both people and the planet. Our tours and guiding programs promote well-being while encouraging care for the environment and the ecosystems we depend on.

For those who may not be able to join outdoor tours, we’re also developing nature-inspired experiences that can be enjoyed at home. These include online forest bathing sessions and aromatherapy using tree-derived essential oils—engaging the five senses in a calming, accessible way.

In addition to individual programs, we collaborate with governments, businesses, and organizations in Japan and abroad. By combining nature-based wellness, health education, and digital tools, we support initiatives aimed at building healthier communities and a more sustainable future.

  • Wellness forest bathing

This forest bathing tour focuses on improving stress and fatigue for working and busy people. A 30+ minute forest walk in the park is a refreshing change of pace.

  • Urban Forest Tour

This is a multilingual forest bathing tour for foreigners. These tours are designed to improve the health of our customers and to familiarize them with Japan’s forest environment and diverse ecosystems.

  • online forest bathing

Dedicated guides and video creators visit the unique forest environments of each region and conduct online tours. Thirty tours have been conducted so far since the program began in 2021.

  • tree based aromatherapy

For those who, for whatever reason or circumstance, are unable to participate in forest bathing, the program provides advice on healing at home using aroma oils under the guidance of a medical professional.

  • Forest bathing effect measurement

We provide evidence information of forest bathing published by doctors and researchers around the world and develop a system for measuring effectiveness under the supervision of experts.

  • SDGs

Our work and activities are particularly relevant to Goal 3 Health, Goal 11 Sustainable Cities, Goal 13 Climate Change, Goal 14 Marine Resources and Goal 15 Land Resources.
